Fully Automatic Labelling System for Cylindrical Products – Type VRM

As with all labelling systems from BBK this model also has a modular design. And this system also functions without any form assemblies. The advantages, such as tooling costs, high availability and multiple usages in a variety of production lines, are self-evident. Adjustment to the different products takes place by simply setting the machine components and can be carried out without any tools. Processing label formats up to 250 mm in height at cycle rates of up to 250 units/min makes it possible to cover a broad production spectrum.

Separation module

A variety of product separation models are available. Depending on the output range separation is effected by 2 pneumatic sliders (output up to 60 units/min), by a driven rubber wheel (output up to 100 units/min) or by a pair of conveyor belts on both sides (output up to 250 units/min). All 3 versions can easily be adjusted to other product sizes within a few seconds, without using any tools.

The basic version comprises the 3-roller rotating station (VRM-DS type) and is used up to an output of 50 products/min. By of an option it is possible for a welding seam, print mark etc. to be used for aligning the product. It is standard for the machine to be equipped with a dispenser from the Rapid series. To apply 2 labels onto the circumference of a cylindrical product, the front and back labels must be arranged alternately on the carrier tape. If, however, if this is not possible a second disperser canbe attached to the rotating station.

The distance between the labels can be selected variably by means of the control system. This label dispenser can serve not only to apply a 2nd label; optionally it can also serve as a backup device. This means that if the material on dispenser 1 is coming up to be changed, prior label warning reports that the supply of material is coming to an end. At this moment the control system switches the start signal over from dispenser 1 to dispenser 2 to apply the label. As long as the 2nd dispenser is in action the stock of material on the empty label dispenser can be replaced. The user acknowledges the change of material via the operating unit. The control system identifies the dispenser in standby mode and enables it again as soon as a lack of material in the 2nd dispenser is automatically reported.

For higher output rates up to 250 products/min we provide a lateral rotary belt (VRM-RB type) as an alternative to the rotating station. The rotary belt can be adjusted in height by means of a handwheel. The passage width is also adjusted by means of a handwheel by adjusting the opposite rotation plate (covered with sponge rubber). The complete machine is therefore converted to another product in a matter of seconds. Furthermore, with this system and a thicker counter pressure plate polygonal products (with at least 6 corners) can also be labelled all round. In this process the counter pressure plate fulfils a massage function.

In order to be able to benefit from the advantages of both systems, BBK provides a combination (VRM-DSRB type) of both rotation versions. This makes it possible to choose variably between applying several labels or labels aligned according to product characteristics and a high throughput rate.

As soon as the product enters the appropriate rotation unit, depending on the model, the product will first be aligned or the label will be immediately dispensed into the unit.
